DEBRA GABEL

Meet the Creative Director of Row by Row Experience & designer behind Zebra Patterns. 

Born in Middletown NY, Debra started sewing as a child and quilting as a teen. After many professional moves within the United States, she and her family settled in Clarksville, MD. Armed with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Graphic Design, Debra worked professionally in the packaging industry. Her independent graphic design business, Mixed Media has been in operation since 1988. After rediscovering quilting in the late 1990s, she started teaching and patterning in 2000. She has steadily built up her own pattern line of more than 300 patterns and has published four pattern books. . Many of Gabel s art quilts have been published in books, magazines, and featured on blogs. She teaches and lectures internationally at quilt guilds, seminars and fiber events. Debra intends to continue lecturing and teaching and to continue as quilter/speaker/author and travel the world through quilting.
